Closed#186: 2.07 Install Error?

I was just installing 2.07 from the zip on the website and noticed that it threw and ugly error when I entered my incorrect database information. I think I’ve done this a few times before and it wouldn’t give me a fatal error like this, it would just give me a little red error message that I had the wrong information. Maybe I’m crazy, but I thought ya’ll would want to know.

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'DatabaseException' with message 'MySQL Error (1045):
Access denied for user 'sympho2'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in query ""'
in /symphony2/symphony/lib/toolkit/class.mysql.php:390
Stack trace: #0 /symphony2/symphony/lib/toolkit/class.mysql.php(122):

Thanks TheJester12. That is a poorly trapped error. Since the details you’ve entered are incorrect, the database object throws a DatabaseException. The installer should be trapping that.
