Closed#272: [2.0.8 RC1] Resource interpreted as other but transferred with MIME type text/html

I’m not sure if this is a Symphony related issue of if it is a Safari bug but in the JavaScript console all responses to calls to the translation function (/symphony/ajax/translate) are causing the following warning:

Resource interpreted as other but transferred with MIME type text/html

Nothing seems to be broken but content.ajaxtranlate.php explicitly sets the page header to application/json which is the correct content type. So there is a mismatch anywhere. So either Symphony doesn’t set the correct header or it’s a Safari bug.

I think it’s a Safari bug. Try and empty the cache, then reload the page. The warning should be gone.

Emptying the cache doesn’t help and I see this on all my Symphony installs. Besides cluttering up my console everything is fine - it’s just annoying when testing JavaScript related Symphony code. I just though that if it is a Symphony related issue it would be great if it could be solved.

I am sorry, I got you wrong. I often experienced this warning in the frontend of my websites, where my method helped (so in this case it was related to the Safari cache).

The backend indeed throws this error (and more than that) in Safari’s debug console.

Pretty sure I fixed this yesterday during the 2.0.8 bug fixing spree - http://github.com/tonyarnold/symphony-2/commit/090be79c3758ecda8adaa88fa905e165d0eab2e2
