A new extension, "Hash Field" is now available for download. Comments and feedback can be left here but if you discover any issues, please post it on the issue tracker.

Created for a limited use-case to start, but I did add some preferences to make it as flexible as possible. Probably a little rough around the edges in the code base, but seems to work a treat. If any one spots an issue just let me know!

I've updated the extension to include clear messaging for hash generation. The field will now report:

  • A) When the entry is initially created the user is informed that the hash will be generated on save
  • B) If the entry ID, salt or hash length have been changed since the last save, then a message will warn the user that the hash will be regenerated when the entry is saved.

I also hid the actual input field and now output the hash in its own paragraph with its own styling.

All styling is WIP.
