Hello,

I'm completely new to Symphony. I installed Symphony on Ubuntu 12.04 with the default apache2, php and mysql that are available in the default repositories.

I followed the install instructions at : http://www.getsymphony.com/learn/tutorials/view/install-symphony/

I tried installing with the "Using a .Zip Package and FTP" and "Using Git" methods and both produced the same result.

The whole procedure worked fine until I wanted to access the admin interface at the end. (http://localhost/symphony/)

All I get is a directory listing of the four sub folders in the symphony folder.

Does anyone know what I'm missing ?

You must enable mod_rewrite for your Apache webserver.

That worked, thanks !

What I did :

In Terminal : a2enmod rewrite

Update of : /etc/apache2/sites-available/default ... ... AllowOverride all ...

You're welcome. Have fun with Symphony!
