Hi,

I've seen that some other CMS recommend to put certain folders above the web root for security reasons.

Is this a good advice and if "yes" what would I need to do to make this work with symphony?

Is this a good advice

Yes.

and if "yes" what would I need to do to make this work with symphony?

You could make it work, but it would be too complicated at the moment. It's not really that big of deal and not worth the effort right now.

But it's generally a good practice and we're gonna restructure Symphony that way in the near future.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on that!
