Many Symphony developers happen to also be gamers.

On the Symphony IRC channel (#symphony on irc.freenode.net), there has been talks about getting a group going for TF2 (Team Fortress 2). Anyone else interested? Getting a time set for this could be tricky but it’s worth checking who else in the community would like to participate in some community fun.

Woo, I have now joined the most awesome steam group ever!

Bring it! :)

So far 6 Australians have verbally committed to a gaming session at some point. That’s already a pretty decent group :)

I am in :-)

Date and time info will be posted on Steam’s group page.

You guys are going to be playing while I’m in the office. Damn you!

nickdunn: You’re in the office between 11pm and 1am?

Nick works 24h, it was written in his contract.

Ha! Not if I can help it.

Australia’s evenings are my working days (GMT)…

We are planning on 8am - 5pm GMT+10

Indeed. Since for me, my evenings are mostly used for your work days too ;)

Aww… I don’t think us Xbox 360 peoples can join a Steam group. Maybe I’ll have to use Boot Camp more often. :-)

By the way, for everyone who wants to take part but doesn’t have TF2 yet: G2Play is offering The Orange Box (Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal) for 8 EUR until Sunday. :-)

Oh yes, I’m down. I’m 14 hours behind, but I’ll figure something out…

I recently purchased TF2, so I might be available for target practice sometimes.

lol

I’ve never played TF2 but I’ve been known to frequent games like Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty. I have it via the Orange Box so I’d be up for it.

That being said, how are you going to get the word out when you’re putting together a game?

You could always do a Twitter account—doesn’t everyone use Twitter at this point?—and send out a message to see how many people are up for a game and if decent number are around you can start a match.

dougoftheabaci: There’s a Steam-group with upcoming events: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/symphony-cms/.

I look forward to kill or be killed tonight/tomorrow/whatever-timezone.

Cool. I’ll check every once and a while. Still, too bad there’s not a feed I can more easily tap into.
