I updated bzerangues utility to make use of the html5 version of youtube here.

Though there are still some more things to do to make it perfect as you can see in this thread: http://getsymphony.com/discuss/thread/46414/1/

@ciryx - I updated my utility with your changes, plus I made changes to the Vimeo code as well. So both YouTube and Vimeo will run well with HTML5. Also, I added a comment inside of the <iframe> element so it wouldn’t self-close and it would validate under HTML5.

hi guys i tried uninstalling v0.3, seems there’s a typo on line 37 of the extension.driver.php it’s no big deal, the word ‘Symhony’ obviously needs correcting.

Any way this can also fit in the sidebar in admin page?

Please see this one, as it works with Symphony 2.2 and any provider that implements oEmbed format (YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr)

@into: I am currently looking to implement this in the oEmbed Field ext

Youtube is now supported in the oEmbed Field

How does

<xsl:value-of select="youtube-video"/>

work without the HTML being escaped?

It probably won't, it should be a <xsl:copy-of />

work without the HTML being escaped?

Try the disable-output-escaping attribute on a value-of, values are yes and no.
