My first Symphony 2 extension, Answer Me, allows you to ask a random question on your front end forms to combat spam. It's comprised of a filter, event, and an interface to add questions/answers.

Cool!

Thanks Lewis; here's to many more.

Cool, thanks Mark.

Let me know if you guys run into any problems. Thanks!

I'm running into 2 problems when using this with Symphony2.0:

  1. The "New"-Button on the Overviewpage doesn't work when Symphony is installed in a subdirectory

  2. Whenever I export an ensemble the "sym_answerme"-table in the database gets lost

Nothing too serious but fixing this would make this sweet extension even sweeter.

Please download the updated version above.

Thanks for pointing this out. I always make this mistake

Whenever I export an ensemble the "sym_answerme"-table in the database gets lost

I believe this is a matter of the Ensemble extension.

And thanks. I'm glad you find it useful!

This nice little extension protected some of the websites I built successfully from spam over the years - so when it finally came to updating two projects that use it and are still alive and running I adopted the extension from Mark and refactored it to make it run smoothly with the latest versions of Symphony (2.3 and upwards).

I renamed it to "Anti Spam Question" and you can find it on github and symphonyextensions:

Have fun with it & thanks to Mark for building this!
