Field: oEmbed updated to version 1.3.1.1 on 21st of February 2012

Field: oEmbed updated to version 1.4 on 18th of April 2012

It's my first attempt to embed youtube, how do I use oembed after create a field in the section?

Using this link in oembed input would produce MySQL error: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-s7rX2FdE0&feature=related

@proyb2: have you tried it without &feature=related on the end? See the comment three above yours.

@DavidOliver, I have it working long ago after Nitriques bugfix with the database field that wasn't existed.

Hi, sorry for my stupid question but i don't understand something... The field works perfectly on a local version of my website, but not online, answer of Symphony is: "Exception occurred: Failed to load oEmbed data" and Vimeo respond "Sorry There was a problem loading this video". Is it because the install of Symphony is at the root level of the vm localy http://holidays:8888/ and in a subfolder online: http://mydomain/holidays/. Any idea of what i did wrong?

Are you running the site on a rackspace shared hosting server? There are issues with oembed itself on rackspace due to shared IP exceeding limit of requests to oembed services.

@vincentd I've got the same error. Local ok. Online = error.

@monnoo2 My website is in a shared hosting, but it is not rackspace.

The problem is that some servers do not allow filegetcontents(), so, the alternative is to use curl.

I've posted an issue on Github with this solution

Thanks @renan_santos

hi,

i've added request url parameters in the "request url parameters" field, but i'm not getting any parameters added. the params i'm using are: &maxwidth=800&maxheight=600 does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? i'm using oembed_field v1.4 and symphony 2.2.5.

thanx

Have you tried converting the & into &

@moonoo2: yes i tried that and it does not work. the field rewrites the & back to &.

hi all,

does anyone know what params can be used in the "Request URL Parameters (Appended to the query string) " field of this extension?

i thought i could put these params (&maxwidth=800&maxheight=600) in the field, but they don't seem to work.

Are you sure maxwidth and maxheight are allowed query strings? Never hearf of maxwidth being allowed in vimeo?

@moonoo2: youtube uses it

@Moonoo:

Are you sure maxwidth and maxheight are allowed query strings?

width and height acts as a max for vimeo, and this part of the spec: See 2.3.4.2. in http://www.oembed.com/

@cmdillon: Maybe it's a bug in the 1.4 version. Can you try to var_dump the $url variable on line 102 https://github.com/Solutions-Nitriques/oembed_field/blob/v1.4/lib/class.serviceDriver.php#L102 ?

Ahh right! thanks Nicholas. :)
