Data Source Filters, Field Types, Fields, and Pages

Step 3. Populate the data

Navigate to your newly-created section (Content > Stores) and click the Create New button and you will see the form to create a new Store entry (Figure 1). You should be seeing two text input fields in the main column and a Google Map in the secondary column, centred on London.

Enter details for the Name and Address fields and turn your attention to the map. If you know where the address is on a map, zoom in and drag the red marker onto the desired location. Easy!

If you don’t know where the location actually is, click on the Edit Location tab above the map where you can enter an address. This address can be as broad as specific as you wish, but must be enough to geocode (the process of converting a place name into geographical latitude/longitude coordinates). Postcodes usually work best. Try entering your own postcode and click the Update Map button. If found, you will see the marker move to this new location on the map.

To save your store click the Create Entry button, and you’re done. You now have an entry that is tied to a pair of coordinates. The possibilities are endless! Continue reading to find out how easy it is to find entries near specific location.
