Search

Hi im very inexperienced and trying to work on a site created by someone else. Im looking to restyle the site, but currently don't have server access(only have symphony admin access).

The sites styles are stored in a css file thats referenced by the master.xsl, and referenced as href="{$workspace}/css/main.css". Alot of other assets are stored in the workspace as well.

Is the workspace directory a locally stored file that can only be accessed via accessing the host server? Or can it be accessed via the symphony admin? I know that's a very simple question

Thanks

Hi Jonathnak, Welcome.

The Symphony admin doesn't provide access to the workspace directory by default.

There are a few extensions that if installed, may allow you access to edit the files from within the backend...

Do you not have FTP access?

If you were able to request the installation of an extension or two, you will gain access to the relevant files via the admin area.

An extension such as Symphony Deluxe would give you the control you need... NOTE: you would be editing the live sites style doing it this way though.. and may break any version control aspects of the intended build.

Thanks alot, thats really helpful
