So I have an extension, based on Nils' Site preferences. To which I've constructed a new array of navigation pages being brought in via a static php file.

All is well and I can see this additional navigation array being rendered to the backend.

When I visit the extensions content index page, the fetchNavigation array disappears.

I'm confused with regards to what order the building of the page is done and at what point/function can I influence both content rendered to the page as well as add additional items to the navigation array?

See my content index page here.. which results in content, but is missing the additional navigation array included with my extension.

Where might I be going wrong?

EDIT: not sure what I did but it's fixed itself now.
