Can I have my datasource filter section entries by page types?

For example, I have Menu Item field in my section that contains value home and I have my global variable $page-types which contains value en, home.

Is there a way to make datasource filter out all section entries that don't contain en or home?

Even better would be if I can have selectbox somehow show all created pages, I didn't find any extension for that though.

I believe there is a page select field out there, I recall using it once. I do not know if its been kept up for the newer versions though.

Could you just find pages in the navigation datasource that contain the page params you want with xslt?
