Hello,

I know that php is not a strong typed language. Symphony provides great components, but there is a poor information about the most used types for variables, when reading the code: is it an integer, a string, a double-float, a boolean, an object, a $tvArray (variant), $tiArray... at least for prefixing the variables?

Older languages use the "Hungarian notation": it saves time. So, I was wondering why this cheap facility wasn't used?

Simple answer is oversight and a preference for clear variables (which admittedly we fall down in sometimes too). The API docs should be able to help if you're interested in using Symphony's classes and methods :)
