The debug has impressed me since 1.7 and in 2.0 I think everyone can agree that's it's a-w-e-s-o-m-e.

I just had a quick suggestion, though. Perhaps you could use: GeSHI

It has support for XML highlighting. I'll look for the XSLT.

What would be the advantage of GeSHI in comparison to the current highlighting?

If you're using Safari 3.1, take a look at this http://symphony21.com/forum/discussions/147/1/ to fix the highlight issue in debug.

Thanks huyaroo. That explains why it didn't have highlighting.

Skubidu, I guess there isn't much of a difference except less code for them to maintain? Additionally, GeSHI can be extended:

  • Your own CSS style
  • Add your own language -- say for the XSLT, keyword highlighting for the
    • value-of
    • choose
    • etc.

Someone should write an extension to allow us to integrate code colouring into our templates.... hint, hint :)

Oh all right, fine - I'll do it.

EDIT: Spoke too soon: shudder no way. Nuh-uh. Not until we get some more docs for how to interact with extensions and entry data.

Documentation will be available towards the end of the beta period.
