Although jQuery is really easy and we’ve adopted it as the JavaScript framework of choice in Symphony, I stumbled across another library this morning, which I thought some of you may be interested in. From the site:

PHP.JS is an open source project in which we try to port PHP functions to JavaScript. By including the PHP.JS library in your own projects, you can use your favorite PHP functions client-side.

No server component required.

It looks interesting and helpful for those of you who yearn to use php like functions client side.

And for the complete opposite, phpQuery is a port of jQuery to PHP for DOM traversing and manipulation :-)

Server Requirements

  • PHP 5.3-5.6 or 7.0-7.3
  • PHP's LibXML module, with the XSLT extension enabled (--with-xsl)
  • MySQL 5.5 or above
  • An Apache or Litespeed webserver
  • Apache's mod_rewrite module or equivalent
