A new Extension, “Param Pool to XML” is now available for download. Comments and feedback can be left here but if you discover any issues, please post it on the issue tracker.

Converts your $parameters into XML nodes.

This extension provides a Data Source that takes the parameter pool (append ?debug=params to a page to view) and writes it into your page XML. This makes it easy to loop over IDs returned in Data Source Output Parameters, or to count the number of specific params.

Cool!

Another great extension by Nick “Consider It” Dunn.

:-)

Nick, you are great.

If I ever go freelance there’s a company name right there :-)

Back on topic: I mentioned this extension to Allen earlier and he seemed interested since it dovetails neatly with an approach to writing XSLT he’s recently adopted. I’ve asked him to elaborate here if he gets time.

Additionally I understand that in the next major version of Symphony the whole concept of $params is to be replaced with XML anyway, so this is a nice coincidence.
