I would like to add a field to a section for uploading .pdf files. I would like them to go into a folder just for pdf files. how do I change the working directory to store them? Also the type is listed as “image Document” will this cause problems for a user trying to view the pdf when the link is clicked?

In your workspace, you can create any directory structure you want as long as you leave pages, data-sources, and utilities intact. Any other directories you create will be visible by the upload field and, as long as they’re writable by the server, can be chosen as an upload destination.

Users shouldn’t have a problem viewing your PDFs as long as you link to them properly in your template.

is there a way to create the directories within symphony vs using an ftp client? Thanks for the help.

Yup, with the file manager extension.

… which is not officially production-ready, so use with caution.
