Greetings from Indonesia! :)

I am using symphony 1.7 and planning to upgrade it to 2 beta rev5. Sadly enough, I am just a newbie in the town. Then I tried to upgrade it at my local server (xampp/xp), installed 1.7 locally, import my online-sql to the local sql, and so on and so on, I KEEP FAILING. sigh The question is..

How can I upgrade my installation to 2 beta without losing any of my entries and comments?

Geez, I'm totally confused. If somebody out there can help, I would really appreciate it. :) I have been wanting to use that External XML grabbing since the first time I peek it.

Sorry for my bad language. Wow this is long. :p

Welcome :)

It's not possible to upgrade from version 1.7 to version 2 due to some fundamental changes in the database.

aah. so I have to install a fresh one?

well, that was short. :p

Yes, that's what you need to do. There are some changes in the interface structure and the way the XSL is integrated differs from version 1.7. Just have a look and feel free to ask if you run into problems.
