If I type in the raw URL the page reads as:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_NEW in /nfs/c06/h02/mnt/89248/domains/haddongrant.com/html/index.php on line 10

If I type in the install.php URL the page reads as:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘{’ in /nfs/c06/h02/mnt/89248/domains/haddongrant.com/html/install.php on line 68

All the files are set to 777 for permissions. I downloaded the files for 2.0.7RC2 and merged them with the defaults for 2.0.6 today so it’s the very latest of both. I’ve done this before with not apparent issues.

The host is Media Temple which I’m starting to think might have something to do with the issue.

Is this fixable?

You’re opted into PHP5? I think (mt)’s default is still 4.

That did it. I wasn’t aware that was the case. Thanks!

OK, I have a followup question. I’m starting to think Media Temple isn’t as great as people seem to think…

In order to use PHP5 Media Temple sets a line in an .htaccess file. Because of this I can’t install Symphony. However, if I rename the file I get the errors again.

I’ve contacted Media Temple to see if they have a solution but I’d also like to hear if there is one from the Symphony community.

Yeah, I posted it a while back. Gimme a sec.

EDIT: here you go

That was the response of Media Temple as well. Thanks for your help!
