The HTTP Input field lets you validate HTTP requests - for example, if you allow users to add links to external images, you could use it to check that the link returns a successful status code (200) and an image content type (image/*).

Just remember, this extension is mostly untested, and it requires you have the PHP Curl extension enabled on your server (most do).

A new version which adds some polish to the extension, instead of simply displaying the URL to the external resource, it gives you a truncated link.
