i constructed a hierarchical data model for a tree based navigation. within a datastore i want to use a part of the url for filtering the datasource. my parameters for the page are $l1/$l2/$l3 in the datasource i use {$l1} = “parent (select box)” everything is fine whether $l1 is really filled. it fails if the parameter is empty. in this case all items returned. i would expect that no item will be returned. is there any way to formulate that the filter should return no values if the page parameter is empty? regards heiko

This should help you. You want to use the “Required URL Parameter”.
