When trying to install Symphony on one of my clients servers(running php5.2.0), I had checked out that everything was supported according to the stated server-requirements. However, after install I noticed that 5.2.0 needs to be compiled with memory-limit enabled, which was not stated in the Symphony server requirements and not supported by the host.

So: 1: you need to update your installation guide. 2: Is there a way around this? I’ve tried asking the host to recompile their php, but it seems like a no go.

Sounds like a time to find a more receptive host.

Definitely, they are quite rude in the e-mails as well. Just have to persuade my client to change host…

seems like i’ll be running it of my own dreamhost account until my client’s host upgrades to 5.2.1.
