I have noticed since installing Symphony 2.0.7 for the first time since it was released, (well for the first time in a while), that there is no longer any indication when editing content, which fields are required.

Knowing this is going to confuse my editors I added this to the bottom of the forms.css stylesheet in the core symphony folder:

div.required label:before {
content:"* ";

}

This adds a * before required inputs, just before the label. I’ll add to this if I expand on it (I feel the need to have an instruction somewhere eg Fields marked with * are required).

I think Symphony follows the opposite approach. Fields are considering required unless otherwise stated (eg. the Optional cue).

Your tweak is quick and easy nevertheless and would help people who aren’t familiar with Symphony.

Yes I did notice that - but having a publish section where all fields are required there is no non-required field to indicate that the others are required.

And yes dealing with clients that really aren’t familiar with Symphony :)
