Can I use the built-in php-function to parse the RSS on a separate page? Thank.

built-in php-function

Sorry, I don’t understand.

You certainly can use the Dynamic XML DS to fetch and parse RSS Feeds.

Apparently this is what you need.

I just started learning Symphony and not very telling in English, so I apologize for the questions.

I will try to explain what I need. I want to parse the RSS for example at a particular address mydomen.com/top/ — this will provide me with the means to make a symphony?

I am not sure if you’re too aware about what you actually want to achieve. I would suggest you took a look at the beginner tutorials first. And fiddling around with the Dynamic XML DS to see what it actually does.

Hey, here’s a quick little screencast that I put together that might help.

And this discussion might help.

Excuse me, but when accessing the page displays a message: fsockopen () [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to http://195.46.161.16:80 (Unable to find the socket transport “http” - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?)

How do I fix this?

Hi Walek,

I believe this is a php / apache configuration problem. Are you able to run any other php? For instance, try loading a php file with these contents:

<?php
phpinfo();
