First off, three years ago I had a brilliant idea to combine XML + XSLT to develop a brilliant CMS that would rule the world. Okay, maybe not that latter part, but then I got busily engaged in a project for two and a half years. I thought to myself, As brilliant as this idea is, surely someone has already done it? Off to the Internet I went. Of all the CMS’s I found, I am most interested in Symphony, and here I am.

I’m not quite finished installing Sypmhony. I’ve never used Git before, but I want to. At work I use SVN, and since this is already set up to use Git I thought it would be a good time to learn. I’ve followed all the Git commands to get Symphony and I’m waiting on my domain to finish registering before I can run the install script. My question is really: how can I use Git to manage my project? And will this effect my ability to get updates to Symphony through Git?

Have you had a look at the docs? There’s an article right here that you might find helpful…

Thanks, csheng. Exactly what I wanted.
