I’m new to Symphony (just installed for the first time last week). I’m working through my site idea fairly well, but I’m struggling with templates for my project’s front-end.
Ideally, I’d love to learn how to be more ninja-like with XSLT and making site elements sexy, but I’ve got limited time. I’ve posted for paid help on the following links, and thought this would be an easy way for people in the Symphony community to make a quick buck and help me learn.
I hope to review and understand the deliverable so that I can build on them myself in the future - so I’m looking for well-commented XSL and CSS files. Below is a copy of the posts, along with links to four different freelance sites I’ve posted them on. All the posts are the same, so I’d recommend using whichever site offers the lowest commission rates!

Here’s the work detail: Working on a personal project on my own and managing the back-end stuff myself. I’m not good with designing look/feel stuff. So I’m looking for help.
I’m looking for a fixed-rate bid (not hourly) for Symphony CMS template work. Here’s what I’m looking for from bids: - obviously, a strong working knowledge of Symphony CMS, XHTML, XLST, and CSS. If you don’t know how Symphony works, we’re going to have some serious communication problems that I don’t want dragging this project out. - a review of a crude mock-up I make, with notes on pain points, and up-front identification of any pain points - several Symphony Utilities (at least a main/default, navigation, 404, rss, and two or three for a few custom needs) XSLT-based Symphony Utilities - one or more CSS files to be used in conjunction with the XHTML - all solutions are W3C compliant, and will pass validation tests.
As I said, I’ve got an idea of how I want it to look, but I’m not as good with front-end design as back-end work. I’m hoping the bids to come in will be short and cheap, as I don’t think there is a lot of work to do here for someone with Symphony template experience.
Please include with your bid the following info: - How much time, in days, are needed to complete from the time mock-ups are provided to the time final delivery is made. - Any references you have for template work you have done with Symphony CMS. - What support and/or documentation do you need from me (besides the mock-up and XML data source structures) to complete the work.
