When Symphony gets to process event filters, would $_SERVER[‘REMOTE_ADDR’]; still return the users IP?

I’m in the middle of developing an event filter which requires the ip address of the user, and it just dawned on me that I don’t know if I can get it.
So, my question is, to those PHP peeps out there…
When Symphony gets to process event filters, would
$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];still return the users IP? This is probably the most stupid question of the day, but I’m still getting my head around class inheritance and Symphony too.
