Hi,

I am currently a little confused and lost. What I need is a contact form just as the default (checking required fields) using the smtp mail setting of symphony BUT without saving the messages to a message section.

Any help/hint would be appreciated padexx

The only way to achieve this is using a Symphony section and an event, as you say. I suggest hiding the section from the UI (tick the checkbox when creating the section) and you can forget about it. It's useful having a history there, in case you discover that your SMTP has been down for a week and you need to recover un-emailed form submissions! (Been there, done that.)

Sounds reasonable, thanks!
