I was just enabling Maintenance mode using the extension. And am now not able to use the backend. All I get is an empty, white page when trying to.

What to do?

Eep, sounds like a PHP error is killing your page. Try adding this to the top of your root .htaccess to turn on error reporting.

php_flag display_errors on

Gives this:

<b>Fatal error</b>: Undefined class constant 'PAGE_ALERT_NOTICE' in <b>/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/20/extensions/maintenance_mode/extension.driver.php</b> on line <b>72</b><br />

Are you using the lastest version of the extension?

I'm using the one bundled with 2.0.1.

Can I use PHPMyAdmin to disable maintanence mode in the meantime this is solved?

I think you just have to edit your config.php.

Yes. Thanks.

I'm using the one bundled with 2.0.1.

Try grabbing the latest code at GitHub.

Will do.

Did the trick.
