A new extension, "Health Check" is now available for download. Comments and feedback can be left here but if you discover any issues, please post it on the issue tracker.

Nice, this would also be really good as Dashboard panel!

I encountered an error while testing out the extension. I've posted it as an issue on the extension's bug tracker.

• Added a rudimentary test which runs against your server to determine the best permissions for your environment. If it fails it will default to Symphony defaults.

Where exactly does health check try to create the test directory? I guess it might not really be working at all on a shared server where FTP and PHP-Users are separated?
