Hello, guys! Please tell me how to enable caching in Symphony 2.0. Thanks!

You have to edit manifest/config.php. It has changed its appearance shortly, so I can not tell you line numers. But you should be able to find the following settings there:

  • (image) cache (may be '0' or '1')
  • (image) quality (will be '90' by default)

Thank you, michael-e! But I mean Pages or XML caching.

Oh, what is 'image quality'?

Pages are not cached. Data Sources are not cached either, but if you create a Dynamic XML data source then you can get the cache time in minutes.

Symphony supports image cropping and resizing which can cache the newly created thumbnail/crop. When this new image is created the quality decides how much compression to add to the JPEG.

Caching is a tricky beast. We've had built in caching in the past, but it never seemed to work just the way you wanted, and several times we ripped it out in favour of project specific caching. Are you looking to cache mostly static content? or something more complex?

Content is mostly static. Creating XML tree takes a long time because it includes more than 1000 elements.
