Hi. Having used a host which later turned out to be incompatible with symphony I am (for the time being) using NearlyFreeSpeech to host my website.

I am installing symphony through git and using the default workspace to start with. If you saw my earlier issue, I have resolved that and the install works fine and connects to the database however, I am receiving this error:

2011/11/12 19:22:32 > Notice: WRITING: Creating 'manifest' folder (/manifest)
2011/11/12 19:22:32 > Notice: WRITING: Creating 'logs' folder (/manifest/logs)
2011/11/12 19:22:32 > Error: ERROR: Creation of 'logs' folder failed.
2011/11/12 19:22:32 > Error: Could not create 'logs' directory. Check permission on /manifest.

Nevermind. I fixed this issue now. The problem was that safemode was on. NFS has an option (under your sites area) to change from php5.2 to PHP Flex which emulates having no safemode.

Stay classy Symphony :)
