I have a WebHosting – Windows on Godaddy server. I have been trying to install Symphony CMS, the installation went successful. But whichever page, I try to acces – get ’404 – page not found’ error. The symphony cms is installed inside the sub-directory (/html/symphony-new). The .htaccess file is created inside the sub-directory, and the rewrite base is '/symphony-new/'. But I don't think the .htaccess file is ever read. Did anyone had similar issues? any help please ..

Try adding AllowOverride All to the top of your htaccess file

As far as I remember - there might issues with redirects on Windows servers; depending on their actual setup; as I assume they would be using IIS as server to support .net technology. Usually I only use windows for development and Install Apache as my web-server and for prod I use Linux so cannot help much; but I'd assume anyone with the knowledge would require information relating to the web-server being used unless someone already has a Symphony install on Godaddy (Windows)
