Symphony installation DB access error

Check with your host, perhaps they don't allow localhost and require 127.0.0.1 or a different host name / port?

I have to install Symphony on a new host (different than usual one) and I get an unable to connect to DB error (see attachment).
DB, user and pass are OK, I checked them. Any other reasons?
