I created a custom Blog page.

It shows articles from homepage/entries/

I can click and I see the actual article.

I want to get rid of any trace of comments, no leaving comments, no showing comments, nada. Strictly a read-only blog.

So I tried:

  1. in get-comments.xsl commenting out all templates completely.
  2. in get-article.xsl I have custom templates for homepage-articles/entry and article/entry and commented out all the original template code. nothing comment related in my custom template.
  3. in Components -> Data Sources -> Comments I removed Filter results.

what am I missing, when I view a blog article I still see the attached screen shot. Comments still around.

How can I disable comments completely?

Hi Jason,
I assume your blog is based on the spectrum ensemble? Symphony's default theme?
There you should remove the code in articles.xslt from <xsl:apply-templates select="comments"/> all the way till the last line of the commentform.

Building a blog without comments is one of the most basic things you can build with symphony and is not hard at all.
In stead off tweaking the spectrum theme i would suggest building this from scratch. It would be a great exercise learnig the basics of symphony.
By the way, you'r screenshot is missing...

Here is the screen shot
