Hallo,

how and for what I can use the JIT Recipes in the preference panel. Can I use the "direct display" to display images in the eackend or is that only for frontend stuff ?

thx

Hi quma, there's an article already on JIT that should help you. You should try to spend some time looking for existing documentation next time; it would save your time and everyone else's. :)

JIT is flexible and can be used however you want. Usually though it's for your code in the frontend; you can modify the backend by using/making extensions. Recipes are used to pre-set paramaters that would otherwise be specified in the URL, and aren't necessary for the primary function of JIT.

There are a lot of extensions for images already that can let you choose images, preview images, crop images, and the like on the extensions website. One of those might be what you're looking for.

JIT only used to work the way that you defined its parameters directly via the URL. One of the parameters is the mode. One of the. Odes is the direct display mode. With the recipes you can map a URL handle to a set of JIT parameters. This way a JIT URL might look like /image/thumbnail/path/name.jpg instead of like /image/2/100/150/5/path/name.jpg
