Symphony can run under a subdirectory just fine, so the fact that you're seeing 404 on subpages means something isn't configured correctly. You would need to solve that problem first before deciding how you want the redirection to work between your root and your subdirectory.
From the sounds of it .htaccess
rewrite rules isn't running correctly or at all.
It's all installed to a /lbtb directory. this is my .htaccess.

Is mod_rewrite
enabled on your server?
This really sounds like a Godaddy hosting issue. Here's a couple of articles to get you started:

I've looked all over for the answer to this. First of all, I should have known better than to use godaddy shared hosting (or godaddy at all). with that out of they way, I don't have proper permissions on the root folder to run the installation of symphony. I created a subfolder and ran the install there. Installation was successful. index shows up at the subfolder address but all other pages are 404. I assume this is likely an .htaccess and/or config.php issue. I figured I'd write a redirect page to go to the proper index in the subfolder. My question is, what can I do to get the site running from the subfolder to ensure everything runs functionally as it did when I developed it on my own server.
I've attached the htaccess file here.
