Symphony's integration branch bundles a new feature for the Data Source editor: parameter suggestions.

DS suggestions

As soon as you type {$ into a Data Source filter, you'll be presented with a drop down list of available parameters (pages, Data Sources, environment). Suggestions can be browsed and selected either by mouse or by keyboard. This feature needs to be thoroughly tested across browsers and operating systems so we need your help.

Very helpful. I'll try to give it a test run this weekend.

I always seem to need the

{$whatever:0}

thing when using DS. Is that still the way to go or should I be using an option somewhere?

I'd like to try this function so I'll give it a go. Just forced myself to go PHP 5.3.x totally so I have fresh backups of all my personal sites. Ideal time for testing as I can easily revert back to the standard installation.
