Hey Guys.

Anyone know the impact that i will have upgrading a Symphony 2.2.1 to the latest version?

Should be any problems at all ?

Cheers. Andre.

You may have issues if:

  • You are running PHP 5.2
  • The extensions on your installation have not been updated for the latest release

Backup and give it a shot, we're here to help if anything goes amiss :)

Hey @brendo this upgrade will be for one of our sites! You probably know well the site! lol!

When you back?

Upgrading Symphony.... What a mission!!!!

The symphony team definitely need a tool for update versions like wordpress or similar.

Symphony 2.3 was a major upgrade from Symphony 2.2.x.

Complaining about your upgrade process doesn't really help. Please describe what problems you are running across in detail.

  • Exactly what problems are you running across?
  • What version of PHP are you running?
  • What extensions are you running?

Are you upgrading your site on a live server? You should download your site, especially with this major release, to your local machine and upgrade from your local machine and checking to make sure everything works.

The more descriptive you can be when describing the problems you are running across... the quicker and more helpful our community can be for you.

Yeah, echoing Brian a bit here, would be useful to know what went wrong exactly. We've been working hard to ensure upgrading is as painless as possible so knowing what bottlenecks still exist would be useful.

I just wandered in here, but for what it's worth, I actually appreciate that there isn't big flashing update button on Symphony. Can cause some real issues when clients decide to update their own site 0.0

Heys guys.... At the end everything has worked out great!!!!!

Some issues updating extensions however thanks for @nickdunn with a great tutorial

All working on Symphony 2.3.1 :)

@abocati, good to hear. Glad you got it up and running.
