Search

Hi, I'd want to build an extension to get the keyword for which a user has searched on google and got on a specific page, and store it into a field for that page. The problem is that it will be my first time making an extension for symphony and I have no idea where to start from or which way is better than another. Event ? Field ? Thank you for any ideas !

A field is not exactly suited for that. Either an event or a datasource, with Symphony 2.2.x I would have said event because it was simpler, but the new rewrite of datasources in 2.3.x made things easier on that side too. Given it is providing data and it isn't performing any real action, a datasource should be the way to go.

I'd say create a custom data-source; you would need to use an oAuth library to handle your tokens with Google then use their API to retrieve the data accordingly.

Thank you for replying ! I'll give it a try soon
