A new extension, "Database Integration Manager" is now available for download. Comments and feedback can be left here but if you discover any issues, please post it on the issue tracker.

Still very much in testing but please see github:

You have seen the CDI haven't you? I'm interested to see your locking method though.

Yeah, this project spawned after having some issues with CDI. It's a nice bit of software but I needed something a little safer for my workflows as CDI can corrupt your database quite easily if you mess up.

The locking method is nothing fancy, just hides the UI to get to the blueprints pages essentially. Some consideration will be needed for extensions (ie email template manager or similar) that have custom tables but it wouldn't be too complicated to add in.

I logged an issue recently on the github issue tracker for Symphony that we will need to seriously address the 'migrations' of content and structure with Symphony after we move to an xml schema base for structure.

If you would like to help out, I would really appreciate your input on this with the other guys. Do you think you'd like to help? There's a bit of time before it happens as we will need to get 2.4 out of the door first.

Yeah I'd be happy to help out. I've got a busy few months coming up so can't commit to anything huge but I'll give any input / help out how I can.

Is (https://github.com/symphonycms/symphony-2/issues/1664) the issue you were referring to? I'll have a read through later.
