Description

The Breadcrumb Field lets you link your entries together in a tree, with a simple breadcrumb based interface.

This is an unstable release, wait for 1.0 before using in production.

Changelog

Version 0.3, 9 July 2011

  • Added a "tree view" interface that turns your publish table into a hierarchical list of entries.
  • No longer fetches full Symphony entries, instead it fetches only the data it needs.
  • Always outputs the path to an item in datasources.
  • Improved integration with unstable Subsection Manager; it displays the full path instead of the entry title.
  • Fixed a few miscellaneous bugs.

Version 0.2, 1 July 2011

  • Improved interface, it no longer forces the following fields down the page.
  • Fixed a bug with extra columns being created in field tables.
  • Fixed a bug where breadcrumb would appear above the menu.
  • Added better usage instructions with screenshots.

Version 0.1, 1 July 2011

  • Initial shaky release.

Usage

The Breadcrumb interface may be a little confusing; tis is the first thing you'll see:

An empty breadcrumb

The first button is the clear button, if there where any items in the breadcrumb it would remove them, the second button is the add item button. If you don't have any entries in your section, clicking the add item button won't do anything.

After clicking the add item button you will see this:

Choosing a parent item

Clicking on one of the drop down options will add it to the end your breadcrumb:

A breadcrumb containing one item

If you click on the add item button again, it will give you a list of entries aleady linked to the last item in the breadcrumb.
