I am new to Symphony, I've just tried to install a fresh copy on my local development machine to explore this exciting CMS and its capabilities, but as I finished installing I got a list of folders:

assets/
content/
lib/
template/

insted of the admin panel and I can't figure out what is causing this and how to fix it. I have the mod_rewrite enabled on my server and the welcome page is correctly displaying. So any ideas that could help me sort this out is greatly appreciated.

Definitely something wrong with your .htaccess or mod rewrite.

The welcome page would display as this would be index.php which is the file the webserver would show by default.

maybe "Allow override" is not enabled at apache.
