AFAIK, Symphony never actively used symphonycms.com, but sympony-cms.com. Additionally, I don't think that the community wants to support any kind of domain grabbing.

changing the domain isn't going to change the direction of anything. money better spent elsewhere.

Given that a lot of symphony related links target the old domain I think somebody from the core team should buy it while we still have the chance.
The listed price being $1,888 maybe the community can chip in.
