Well, database access in Symphony is done through an abstracted layer, controlled by $settings['database']['driver']
in your config.php
. As far as I can tell, the only driver that currently exists is the MySQL driver (symphony/lib/toolkit/class.mysql.php
), but you could always try to copy its API.

This might elicit a short, sharp “Get lost!” :) but I'm willing to risk it...
I have noticed one or two other CMS's that are "normally" PHP/mySQL based also supporting SQLite3. And I have just realized that if I can use SQLite3 as a database (rather than mySQL), that creates a possibility that I could use Symphony in my work environment. So ... what are the chances, d'you reckon?
