I’ve done some searching on the forum here but just want to check I’ve got it right.

Currently there’s no way to extend the user roles other than the developer and author?

I’d like the option whereby a user can post an article which goes into draft and then needs to be published by a publisher.

Is that possible?

I think Rowan’s Frontend Member Manager is as close as you’ll get currently. I haven’t needed to use this, but this utilizes a section to create frontend members rather than Symphony’s own backend user records.
