I am new to symphony (Wordpress user :) ) but not new to markdown. Can i use the whole markdown instruction repertoire for comments and articles or are there limitations what is not possible?

Um.. Not sure how good it is at tables and I think it’s missing any decent definition list abilities.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

According to my experience – and I am using Markdown on every website – the only limitation to the Markdown repertoire (as described by John Gruber) is this: “Randomized decimal and hex entity-encoding” will not work due to the XSLT processor decoding those entities.

@dougoftheabaci: These have never been part of Markdown.

:-)

But the Symphony Markdown extension offers Markdown Extra, which brings these possibilities to Markdown (see here).

@michael-e

You mean Symphony website?

Yes. I build every website with Symphony. :-)
