following up on this thread trying to get rid of namespaces in a dynamic datasource;

is there a way to select only an attribute in a dynamic datasource;

atom:feed/atom:entry/media:group/media:thumbnail/@url

returns 'invalid xml', no xml

[@url] works but is no use...

unfortunately you can't do this either;

atom:feed/atom:entry/media:group/media:thumbnail[exclude-result-prefixes='photo']
