I’ve just discovered this new CMS, looks awesome. I have a question though, on the home page it talks about being able to use some of the worlds most popular APIs which is a real selling point for me. Am I right in saying I can make API calls to the likes of Flickr etc and use the data returned in my custom templates? If so I was wondering if there were any tutorials that specifically address that?

Exciting stuff!

Symphony’s API is XML – that said each available RSS feed is a possible source for content integration. Search for dynamic data sources in http://getsymphony.com/learn/concepts/view/data-sources (down at the bottom).

Show latest Last.fm plays on your Symphony site is a short tutorial on pulling in a feed from the Last.fm API into your XSLT views. It’s so quick you should be able to do it before the kettle has boiled ;-)

I wrote a tutorial how to integrate Symphony with Picasa (which I prefer over Flickr). Perhaps this might help you with the integration of similar applications.
